Moncler says goodbye to fur

Moncler will definitively eliminate fur from all its collections starting from 2023. The company of French origins announced this in a note, on the occasion of the launch of the second edition of "Moncler Born To Protect". This is a collection made up exclusively of materials with low environmental impact. Nylon, polyester, organic cotton, certified down: all according to specific sustainability standards. A kind of taste, in short, of what will be a real revolution.

The Moncler 2020/2025 Sustainability Plan focuses on five priorities: climate change, circular economy, responsible supply chain, valorisation of diversity and support for local communities. The brand led by Remo Ruffini is just the latest in a series of luxury brands that have decided to do more to protect the environment. Gucci, Armani, Prada, Burberry, Versace and Michael Kors are just some of the names of virtuous companies that have banned fur in recent years. But that's not all: by 2025 Moncler aims to increase the recycling of materials and production waste and to make the packaging of its products entirely ecological.

The last collection of the Italian-French brand with fur-covered garments will be the one for autumn/winter 2023. The stop on the purchase of raw materials, however, will arrive as early as this year. A choice consistent with that of Italy: our country, in fact, has abolished mink farms starting from 1 January 2022. At least in the production process, in short, in our country furs are now officially banned.
